OUR MISSION

IS TO KEEP THE GAME FUN AND MAKE IT MORE FRIENDLY BY OFFERING SHIRTS AND APPAREL

THAT SIMPLY MAKE YOU LAUGH.

While you see the shirts and logos, the subtle agenda is to make us take a moment and think about what other good we can create from a small portion of that one pot we won that we shouldn't have been in, in the first place! Hence shop, buy and notice some of the Charitable sites that could use your help no matter how small.

ABOUT OUR LOGO

“I’ve had this smiling Donkey picture in my phone for years. I don’t remember how I came to have it though….
But after a fun filled long session with a couple of nice professionals at the Bike, the opportunity arose for me to pretend I was taking a picture of a real donkey at our table. He gave an incredible “Bad Beat” to another player…. Something on the order of calling a two outer on the river for an all-in call. I then showed it to one of my new acquaintances and we all laughed all night.”

THIS WAS THE GENESIS OF DONKEYPOKER.NET

How much fun would it be to put this picture on shirts with a few sayings below that same picture? Better yet, how about if I challenged Professionals and Recreational players alike to be nicer at the table and to soft sell them into being more charitable. Then I thought I can probably sell a few caps and shirts with this idea and promote the site. I could then donate some of that money to Donkey Sanctuaries and create a vehicle for others to donate to whomever or whatever they want to donate to.

AFTER A FEW DAYS

I spent hours on the internet trying to find the orginal owner of my picture so that I could get permission or even pay for a licence to use it in my business endeavour. After trying to get any picture of a smiling Donkey (so I wouldn’t infringe on someone’s copyright), I came across someone who had friends that owned a rather large farm in Brentwood. Now at least I had more clues where to find Donkeys besides the poker rooms LOL.

I went online looking for farms and found a Sanctuary in Palo Alto. There I found Perry. I also found out accidentally, how smart, kind and loyal most Donkeys are. I realized that they aren’t stupid as poker players would like you to believe. It’s probably more accurate to think that the mere word Donkey was used in place of profanity. Their breed name for short, “Jackass” probably fits more of the bill. While I’m sure we will keep using the term, I just want this site to capitalize on our entertainment and help them out a little bit. In the process help others as well.
